Health insurance can be complicated, and it can be tough to know which option will give you the most bang for your buck. OneShare Health is not health insurance, but rather is a Health Care Sharing Ministry.

You might be asking yourself, what’s the difference between health insurance and health care sharing ministries? Well, OneShare has three different medical cost-sharing Programs, each with different level tiers to have a wide range of options to give the best fit for all individuals. This article breaks down both options, so you are better informed and know that having health insurance is not the only route for Open Enrollment.

What is Health Care Sharing?

A Health Care Sharing Ministry (HCSM) is a nonprofit organization that promotes healthy living and coordinates sharing of medical bills among Members based on shared religious beliefs. Because HCSMs are exempt from all federal and state insurance laws, they can offer options at a lower cost than traditional health insurers charge. In addition, OneShare Members pay a set Monthly Contribution amount and also have an Individual Sharing Amount (ISA). OneShare's health care sharing Programs give health care options for mental, physical, and spiritual healing thanks to a Faith Community that shares the cost of medical bills.

With Health Care Sharing Ministries, Members pay Monthly Contributions that are set aside for sharing among each other when Eligible medical bills arise. It’s this act—called medical cost-sharing—that allows you and your Faith Community to lift each other up while also being able to access options for affordable health care.

Virtual Urgent Care (Telemedicine) Telemedicine services are not owned or operated by OneShare Health LLC., but made available to OneShare Members by Clever Health.

X-Rays / Labs / Diagnostics Catastrophic programs are eligible for Emergency Room and Hospitalization only.
Emergency Room Emergency Room expenses under $10,000 are subject to a Visit Fee. Emergency Room expenses $10,000 or over are subject to ISA.
Hospitalization After ISA is met, Eligible up to Per Incident Sharing Maximum. Outpatient, Pre and Post Admission for Hospitalization/Outpatient Surgery.
Prescription Discount Program Discount Services vary by state and are not owned or operated by OneShare Health, LLC. Members in Washington state are eligible for the state's WPDP Discount Card through the Washington State HCA.
Lifetime Sharing Maximum
Primary Care Physician OneShare Members have access to a broad range of Providers through the First Health Network. Choosing an in-network Provider will result in faster sharing request processing and ensure that Members do not face additional sharing responsibility for Eligible expenses.	N/A
